Ethical Porn Consumption on ‘Sex With Emily’

We get super excited when spaces outside the adult industry talk about ethical porn, especially when it’s an on-point discussion of ethical consumption of adult content.

The “Sex with Emily [Morse]” blog recently published two listicles itemizing great content for viewers. They were Porn with a Plot (2 August 2017, here) and Porn if You Like it Rough (17 August 2017, here). In addition to including specific titles that are awesome, quotes from respected and highly-skilled directors, and generally seeming like they know what they’re talking about, each listicle also includes a note about ethical consumption.

Here’s the note from Porn if You Like it Rough:

A note about ethical porn consumption: When watching porn in 2017, ethical production is just as important as ethical consumption. Members of the adult industry have many thoughts on what ethical production means, but one thing’s for sure regarding viewers doing their part – ethical consumption means paying for your porn. This means steering clear of tube sites and tumblr content, which do not result in dividends for the people who are actually making/doing the sex in the movies. To do our part, we’ve included artist-approved links to places you can easily access these excellent films.

There is a very similar note in the Porn with a Plot list.

Thanks “Sex with Emily” team for taking the time out to highlight the multi-faceted nature of ethics in terms of porn — because viewers have a role to play too!
